History of Moral Camp
Moral Camp was initiated in a low scale of 25-50 students for a period of two weeks in the year 2003 at Sri Venkateswara Alayamu, Sungai Sumun Perak. It was organized by TAM Bagan Datoh Branch (Formerly known as South Perak Branch) in collaboration with TAM Kulim Branch and TAM Teluk Intan Branch for two years consecutively. Experienced teachers from Bagan Datoh Branch volunteer themselves to guide the students with Telugu language and cultural activities. In the year 2006, Telugu Association of Malaysia has decided to organize the Moral Camp in a bigger scale for a period of three weeks in the national level. Besides the Malaysian teachers, experienced teachers from India were brought in for the purpose. For the year 2006 and 2007, Moral Camp was held in Telugu Samskrutika Nilayamu, Rawang where around 150 students participated. For the year 2008, Moral Camp was successfully held in the biggest scale ever in Kem PLKN Semenyih, Selangor where around 500 students from all over Malaysia participated. In 2009, it was held in Lunas, Kedah where around 300 students participated. 1. PLEASE READ
The first Moral camp was actually organized by TAM Penang & Seberang Prai chairman Mr. Rama Rao s/o J.Subramaniam who is now the national HON.GEN Treasurer of TAM. The Bagan Dato branch just gave support and provide teachers that's all. In fact the the idea to organise this camp is also Mr. Rama Rao's idea. I still remember Mr.Rama Rao and his wife will stay there and take care of the students and also bring some fruits and biscuits to the entertain students over there. most of the students are his relative"s and friend"s children. Nobody know all this truth because the couples (Mr & Mrs.Rama Rao) are very very humble. you can check and ask at Akkiah Appalnaidu sir who live near by the temple. I know all this because I am one of the first student to attend that camp.

  2. Please be noted that the very first Moral camp was organised by TAM Penang/Seberang Perai in collaboration with TAM Kulim Branch, TAM Teluk Intan Branch and TAM Bagan Datoh Branch.MR.Rama rao ,chairman of TAM Penang/Seberang Perai in 2003 put his efforts and worked for years to organise such a camp. How come he and TAM Penang/Seberang Perai is not being mentioned? Please do not forget people who actually served TAM for years over time and people like MR.Rama Rao who should be given the credit that he deserved.I'm one of the first ever student of Moral Telugu Camp in 2003 and judging by the scale of telugu moral camps being held now,i'm very happy to see what Mr.Rama rao did for our telugu community.
