Ugadhi Celebration in Bagan Datoh Branch

Bagan Datoh Branch has recently held its Branch Level Ugadhi Celebration on 16th March 2010 at Sri Venkateswara Devasthanamu, Sungai Sumun. About 400 people participated in the event. The celebration started at 7.00pm with the offering of special prayers to Sri Venkateswara Swamy followed by bhajan and ubhayams. Then, Sri Ramanaidu Ramaloo, Chairman of Bagan Datoh Branch gave a speech followed by Sri D.V.Sri Ramulu who spoke about the significance of Ugadhi and how to celebrate Ugadhi. After that, annathanam was served. Traditional Telugu food and sweets like ‘garulu’, ‘burulu’, ‘aresulu’, ‘ladoo’ were also served. The most important dish which has to be served on Ugadhi day is the 'ugadhi paccadhi’. It was also served to the crowd. The crowd enjoyed the food. During the event, a birthday celebration was held for Jaykirthana, a 3 years old girl whose parents are members of South Perak Branch. The best part of the small celebration was the birthday song which was sang fully in Telugu by the crowd.
